KARACHI, Nov 12: Over 100 special children enjoyed at a fun-and-food festival at a fast-food outlet on Shaheed-i-Millat Road on Monday.

The function was organized by Jimmy Engineer under his project Food for Special Children.

The children, who enjoyed food and music, included 20 students of the Ida Rieu School and College for Blind and Deaf, 25 students of the Society for Rehabilitation of Special Children, 30 students of Scinosa and 20 inmates of the Darul Sakoon.

Stage artist Farzana Naz sang many national and folk songs. Many special children participated in the Dhamaal.

Jimmy Engineer said handicapped children needed special care and demanded that not only the special job quota be implemented but it be increased so that more handicapped people could earn their livelihood with dignity and could play their due role in the progress of the country.

He urged the privileged people to come forward and donate generously to the institutions educating the handicapped.

He said that he was planning to organize such a function at the amusement park soon for the elderly also.
