LAHORE, Oct 2: President Pervez Musharraf is scheduled to inaugurate the University of Health Sciences at the Shaikh Zayed Medical Complex here on Thursday.

The university has recently been established by the Punjab government.

In the evening, the president will attend a reception being held by Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool at the Governor’s House. A select number of people from different walks of life are expected to attend the reception.

Sources said the president would also be given a briefing on the affairs in the province on the occasion.

The president will spend the night in Lahore and then perform the ground-breaking ceremony of the Lahore-Faisalabad expressway in Faisalabad and then inaugurate the Kacchi Canal project at Taunsa on Friday.

His wife Sehba Musharraf is also scheduled to inaugurate the Lahore College University for Women in Lahore on Friday.
