QUETTA: A senior official of the provincial government was among three people who were gunned down in separate incidents here on Saturday.

Abdul Jabbar Yousufzai, Deputy Director, Water Resources Management, was on his way to the Airport Road when attackers opened fire at his jeep.

He received multiple injuries and died before reaching hospital. The cause of the murder could not be ascertained.

Mr Yousufzai’s family said he had no enmity with anyone.

The employees of a health centre, Saeed Mengal and Zahida Kurd, were shot dead at their workplace located in the eastern bypass area.

They worked as watchman and helper at the health centre.

Investigation into the cases was under way.
