QUETTA, Jan 11: A gas pipeline was blown up in Loti area on Tuesday, suspending gas supply to a gas purification pant.
Sources said that unknown people planted an explosive device under the pipeline supplying gas to a purification plant from Loti gas field and exploded it.“It was a 16-inch-diameter pipeline whose five-foot-long portion was blown up by the device,” sources said, adding that repair work of the damaged gas pipe- line would begin on Wednesday. A head constable was shot dead in an attack on a police checkpoint in Dera Allahyar on Tuesday night.
Sources said that some armed men attacked Shafi police checkpoint in Dera Allahyar town, killing head constable Mohammad Khan.
