Detention of leader slammed

Published October 9, 2001

GILGIT, Oct 8: The central leaders of the Karakoram National Movement have strongly condemned the detention of a KNM leader from Diamer, Juma Gul.

Mr Gul has been detained by the Gilgit police.

In a meeting here, the KNM leaders argued that Mr Gul had already obtained bail before arrest from the Diamer sessions court in Chilas in connection with his alleged involvement in a personal feud, but the police arrested him despite production of the court orders.
