Let’s face it: the Aunty Disco Project is quite likeable. That’s only because they make good music and they’re a good bunch of musicians. It seems as if their influences range from the ‘80s rock scene to a bit of grunge music (could be wrong though). Listening to and watching the video of Hum Na Rahe (Mere Masoom Dost) can tell you quite a bit about them.
Here comes the critique: ADP needs to work on two things; ‘songwriting’ (lyrics) which should at least sound a tad mature and ‘vocals’ (of both singers) which should pack a punch. They’re capable of it. For some inexplicable reason they appear to be concentrating more on riffs and chord progressions. If they can get all aspects of music right, Aunty DP can be a force to reckon with.
