CHAKWAL, Jan 8: Robbers looted fuel from trucks and also deprived their drivers of cash and other valuables the other day. However, the police have not registered the case.

The victims drivers told this correspondent that the robbers came to the truck stand situated in front of Rescue 15 office near Saddar police station in two cars. They took out the fuel from 12 vehicles and also snatched cash and cellphones from the drivers who were sleeping there.

The highwaymen also looted two trucks near Ali Masjid at Jhelum Road and two others near Moreed village at Talagang Road.

The truck drivers claimed that the robbers looted diesel worth over Rs90,000.

One of the drivers, Shaukat, said he rushed to the office of Rescue 15 and informed a policeman about the incident but he said there was no vehicle and personnel at the emergency office. Later, the city police personnel reached the spot but the robbers had left the scene.

The SHO of the police station, Sonda Khan, claimed that no such incident had occurred. However, another police official said only four vehicles were looted.
