KARACHI, Jan 7: Veteran tennis organiser Saeed Hai has endorsed shifting of the forthcoming National women’s tennis championship from Islamabad to Karachi in the larger national interest.

The event will also serve as criteria for selection of Pakistan team for the Federation Cup which is due to take place at Bangkok later this month. The selection will be followed by short camp.

“The climatic conditions of Karachi and Bangkok are almost similar and will help our girls acclimatise quickly,” he added. He said extremely cold weather is Islamabad will be of no use for holding trials as well as camp.

PTF women’s wings member and a strong critic, Shahida Kausar Farooq, has drawn the attention of PTF hierarchy pertaining to the issue the other day. ?
