KARACHI: Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) and State Bank will have to wait for at least another day to decide the Division Two champions of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy National Cricket Championship after play on the unscheduled sixth day was put off on Wednesday.

Tuesday's tragic event in Islamabad — the assassination of Punjab Governor Salman Taseer — led to play being called off at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium where KRL were due to resume at 74-2 in response to State Bank's first-innings total of 303.

The inclement weather, with no play on the first and fourth days, resulted in the final being extended to an extra day with the winners now to be decided on the basis of lead on the first innings.
