LAHORE, Jan 1: Defence-A police on Saturday registered a case against the unidentified men for allegedly kidnapping a retired colonel from X-Block of the Defense Housing Authority on Friday.

The police said that Col Manzoor (retired) was serving in the DHA, Lahore, after his retirement from the army some three years ago.

His wife Gull-e-Nayab complained to the police that Manzoor left the home to see his friends in the Defense on Friday. She said her husband rang her and asked her to take lunch as he would arrive after some time. However, she said that her husband did not turn up the whole day and his cell phone was found powered off.

A police official said the investigation had been launched into the incident with all possible aspects of kidnapping.

He said that Manzoor’s wife informed police that her husband was being chased by some people for the last few days. — Staff Reporter
