KARACHI, Dec 30: A young man was found shot dead in Khudadad Colony on Thursday, police said.

They said the body was spotted by some passers-by lying abandoned on Shahrah-i-Quaideen.

The body was shifted to the Edhi morgue after medico-legal formalities at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

“The victim was identified by his family as Asad alias Kuppi. He was said to be in his mid-30s,” said Inspector Yaqoob Sammu, SHO of the Ferozeabad police station.

“He was a resident of Sector 5-C of New Karachi and has been missing since Wednesday evening when he left home to see some friends.”Initial police investigations also found a criminal record of the victim, as some 20 cases — ranging from robbery to attempted murder — were registered against him at the Ferozeabad and the Brigade police stations.

“The victim was in fact a resident of Lines Area till a few years ago when the family moved to the New Karachi area. He had been associated with a political party in the past but was sidelined many years ago,” added an official associated with the investigation section of the Ferozeabad police station.
