QUETTA, Dec 26: Five bullet-riddled bodies – three in Quetta and two in the Mastung district – were found on Sunday.

According to sources, two bodies were found in Killi Qamrani area on the outskirts of Quetta. They were identified as those of Mohammad Zubair and Mohammad Tariq.

Police took the bodies to the Bolan Medical College Hospital and handed these over to the relatives after the post-mortem examination.

Another body was brought to BMC hospital from the Sariab area.

The dead could not be identified.

Two bodies were found in Dasht area of Mastung and identified as those of Sobat Khan Marri and Shadi Khan Marri. TRAILER ATTACKED:

A driver was killed and another man injured in Mastung when gunmen opened fire on a trailer carrying supplies for Nato forces in Afghanistan.

The trailer was on its way to Kandahar from Karachi when it came under attack near Khad-Kocha area.

Driver Mohammad Aslam was killed and an unidentified man in the trailer was injured.

The assailants, who were on a motorbike, escaped after the attack.

Law-enforcement personnel took the body and the injured to the Mastung civil hospital. SMUGGLING ATTEMP:

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) personnel foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of opium into Chagai district from Afghanistan on Sunday.

An ANF spokesman said that the force's personnel signalled two vehicles in the Chapper area near the Pakistan-Afghan border to stop but the occupants opened fire.

When the ANF personnel returned the fire the smugglers escaped.

The spokesman said that about 1,820kg of opium, estimated to be valued at Rs2.25 billion, was seized from the vehicles.
