PEHSHAWAR, Sept 28: NWFP Minister for Law and Local Government Athar Minallah has said that the lawyers community has always raised their voice for the supremacy of law of the land.

He was speaking at a ceremony organized by the Asia Foundation to award law books to the District Bar Associations of Peshawar and Bannu here on Saturday.

The books were presented to Peshawar bar association president Sher Afgan Khattak and Bannu Bar Association president Amanullah Khan. The coordinator of Asia Foundation, Sami Malik, was also present on this occasion.

He said the provincial government wanted to solve the problems confronting the lawyers community, and added that the land for the proposed judicial complex would be acquired on the Ring Road.

The minister also promised to provide all facilities to the existing judicial complex and announced a special grant for the community. He said that the lawyers would be taken into confidence on all related matters of the bar.
