HYDERABAD, Sept 28: The house job doctors of the Liaquat Medical University Hospital, Hyderabad and Jamshoro branches, observed a black day on Thursday.

They were demanding to increase their salaries.

They wore black arm-bands and hoisted black flags at the hospital gates.

Talking to the protesters, Dr Shaukat Panhwar, Dr Khalid Memon, Dr Fayaz Rajpar and others demanded their salaries should be increased from Rs3,880 to Rs6,210 on the pattern of the other provinces.

They said the federal government had announced increase in the salaries of doctors and but the salaries of doctors of Sindh had not been increased.

They announced to hold two-hour strike daily from Friday till the acceptance of their demand.

DEMO: A group of people, who have been allotted plots in Daman-i-Kohisar, staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Thursday against the demand for additional payment for plots by the Board of Revenue, Sindh.

Syed Jameelur Rehman, general-secretary of the action committee, said although the scheme was restored by the Sindh governor, the BoR was demanding additional payment.
