FAISALABAD: A Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) sponsored football academy and stadium has been proposed to be built in Faisalabad to provide sports facilities to the aspiring players of the area, a spokesman of District Sports Committee said.

The Divisional Commissioner Tahir Husain has accorded approval to the proposal for which FIFA will provide funds of more than Rs 40 million initially.

The project will be completed under the supervision of the Pakistan Football Federation, the spokesman added.
