SUKKUR, Dec 7: A man and a woman were killed after being accused of karo-kari in Mumtaz Jakhrani village near Thul on Tuesday.

Atta Mohammad Marhato after accusing his wife Asma, 18, of having illicit relations with Bhooral Lashari, 20, shot dead her in his house.

He then went to an agricultural field and opened fire on Bhooral, killing him on the spot.

Atta Mohammad appeared before police with the shotgun he used for the murders.

Police rushed to the spot and took the bodies to a hospital. After post-mortem examination bodies were handed over to relatives.

ROBBERY: Unidentified armed men looted people travelling in a wagon and a car in Adilpur area of Ghotki late on Monday night.

Thirty men and women belonging to Hindu community of Khanpur Mahar were returning from Raharki Darbar when the armed men intercepted their vehicles near Goth Mithri and snatched their cash, gold ornaments, mobile phone sets and other valuables.

Police registered a case. They arrested three men, Mumtaz Chachar, Arshad Malik and Mohammad Urs Bhurgari, and found two pistols in their possession.
