PESHAWAR, Sept 24: An independent candidate from the PF-3 constituency, Dr Liaquat Ali, on Tuesday alleged that the Nazim of Town No 1 was working for his candidate father and brother in different constituencies and influencing voters by initiating uplift work there.

He told reporters at the press club that the election commission and the local government minister had issued directives that the district governments would not launch development projects without the recommendations of the tehsil council till the general elections.

But, Mr Ali pointed out, the Nazim had initiated various schemes to garner support for his father and brother.

Dr Liaquat appealed to the Election Commission to take notice of the violation else, he warned, he and candidates would boycott the election.
