As a French photojournalist currently based in Nairobi, his work has been published in publications such as Le Monde, Elle, Glamour, Vanity Fair, New York Times, Financial Times and Granta magazine. With a colourful, ethnic-designed strap for his camera, the likes of which no one else sported, Benjamin was seen snapping his camera away off the runway, at the red carpet, backstage… wherever and whenever, it seemed, he could get the opportunity.

“I love being there. As a photographer this fashion week is maybe getting so professional that it is less interesting for me to shoot as it looks more and more like any fashion show!,” said Benjamin about his experience of photographing in Pakistan, “which is good for you but not for me! The front row people were not too eccentric so it became kind of conventional for the photos. But what I liked shooting is the contrast between fashion and everything that goes on in the country, this is very photogenic!” he enthused.

“There still is – for me – a big difference between the designers. Some are amazing (you know our favorites...) and some are too classical (boring) wedding style… I think step by step, Pakistan will improve, but please don’t go too fast, if not I’ll have nothing left to shoot here! See my personal interest is maybe not yours!” — M.S.
