RAWALPINDI, Nov 11: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) will soon begin rehabilitation work in the areas, affected by heavy flood on July 23.

In an interview here on Sunday, the additional executive officer of the RCB, Maj (Rtd) Zafar, said the Board had approved the budget for carrying out development work in Gawalmandi, Talli Moori and Dheri Hasanabad. The long-awaited rehabilitation of Dheri-Talli Moori road had also been approved and work was likely to start in a fortnight, he added.

Meanwhile, the residents of a poor locality of Addra have regretted that the RCB did not approve the repair and recarpetting of a dilapidated road which connects the area with RA Bazaar and Tench Bhaatta. The Board decided to form a committee which would look into the matter. The residents urged the station commander to take stock of the worsening condition of the area.

The residents of Adiala Road and its adjacent colonies have also called upon the RCB officials to extend narrow portions of the road which is unable to cope with ever increasing traffic in the area. — APP
