PESHAWAR, Nov 24: Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said on Wednesday that Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) would be provided all medical and related facilities available in teaching hospitals of Peshawar, which would not only benefit the people of Mardan, but also from the militancy-hit Malakand division.

He said this while chairing a high-level meeting, which reviewed matters concerning the MMC needs such as medical instruments, infrastructure and staff.

He assured the meeting of appointment of doctors and fulfillment of staff deficiency. He said that establishment of accident and emergency centre, medical and surgical ICU and provision of other facilities at the MMC would benefit people of Mardan and nearby districts. He said that this would also lessen burden on hospitals in Peshawar.

The chief minister said that standardisation work on district headquarters hospital would also be accelerated so that maximum number of people could benefit from the modern treatment facilities there.

He appreciated the decision regarding recognition of Bacha Khan Medical College by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and said that it would help in opening new opportunities for promotion of professional education in the region.

Participants of the meeting included secretaries of finance, planning and development, health, C&W department, commissioner and DCO Mardan.
