RAWALPINDI, Sept 21: Two newspaper hawkers died on Saturday after a vehicle hit their motorbike here at Peshawar Road, the police said.

Police said Mohammad Zubair and Soleman Aziz were on way to home by motorcycle (RIU-6331) after delivering newspapers at about 6:30pm when a vehicle hit their bike.

As a result, Suleman Aziz, 15, died on the spot and Mohammad Zubair sustained serious injuries and later died in the hospital.

However, the driver along with the vehicle managed to escape.

A doctor at the district headquarter hospital said the injured boy remained lying on the road unattended for more than half-an-hour. “Had the injured been shifted to the hospital soon after the accident, he might have been saved,” the doctor said. The bodies were handed over to the parents of the deceased after the postmortem.—Staff Reporter
