ROME: Inter Milan centre-back Marco Materazzi has left hospital following a nasty clash involving former team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic, reports claimed on Monday.

Materazzi was taken to hospital after seemingly being knocked out in the robust challenge with the Swede during Sunday’s night’s Milan derby, which AC won 1-0 thanks to Ibrahimovic’s penalty.

Initial fears that the 37-year-old World Cup winner had suffered a broken cheek-bone were allayed, though, as Italian press reports claimed he was given a clean bill of health.

However, there was worse news for Inter as Monday tests revealed both striker Diego Milito and midfielder Joel Obi had suffered hamstring injuries – both came off during the game against Milan.
