KARACHI, Nov 10: Fareed Majeed poached a hat trick to guide Karachi Port Trust (KPT) into the semifinals after a 5-2 triumph over Railways in the President PFF Cup football tournament Saturday.

According to information available here, in another quarterfinal, Nadeem Gill rifled home a golden goal enabling defending champions Pakistan Army defeat Allied Bank.

Fareed, now having a tally of ten goals became the top scorer of the tournament so far, pumped in three goals to help his side take a convincing 3-1 lead before going for a break.

Freed drew first blood with a 25th-minute goal cashing in on a pass from Aurangzaib. But KPT’s joy was short-lived the next minute when Railways Tariq Jawaid outwitted KPT goalkeeper Abdul Ghani to equalise.

Sunday’s fixture:

Semifinal: Khan Research Laboratories v Wapda.
