Published September 18, 2002

LAHORE, Sept 17: Suhail Ghurki, a former activist of Pakistan People’s Party who had joined the Pakistan Muslim League (QA), has announced his decision to return in the folds of his former party.

“I joined the PML(QA) owing to some misunderstandings which have since removed. I have decided to joined the PPP again because my family has deep affiliations with the party; and I can’t think of leaving the party,” said Mr Ghurki at a press conference at the Lahore Press Club here on Tuesday.

Lahore PPP president Mian Misbahur Rehman and city former president Khalid Ghurki, the father of Suhail, who were also present on the occasion, termed his earlier decision as a “serious mistake” which was “committed due to immaturity.”

Briefly speaking on the occasion Mian Misbah stressed the need for holding free, fair and impartial election under a caretaker setup.—APP
