PIA directors approve induction of A310

KARACHI, Sept 16: The PIAC board of directors on Monday decided that PIA would induct A310 of 1900s vintage to replace A300B4 at the earliest.

The board, which was held at the PIA head office, and presided over by the secretary defence/chairman PIAC, Lt-Gen (retd) Hamid Nawaz Khan, was attended by Air Marshal Salim Arshad, Asad Ali Khan, Dr Salman Shah, Omar Khan Afridi, S. Ali Raza, and Zakir Mahmood.

The board was given an update on the status of the fleet replacement and acquisition of new aircraft plan.

It also expressed satisfaction over the progress made in this regard.

Keeping in view the future manpower requirements of the airline, and to fill the gap created retirements, etc, the board gave the approval for the induction of fresh blood into various cadres.

The board also lauded the management’s efforts in achieving sustainable profitability during the current quarter. —APP
