ISLAMABAD, Oct 23: Koral police SHO and Duty Officer were served show-cause notices for not informing the police control about the gunbattle at Tarlai which led to another armed clash at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) killing two persons.

The police sources told on Saturday that the police high-ups had issued the notices to the two police officers for criminal negligence.

The high-ups asked them to submit the reason for not informing the control room and senior police officers as the negligence put over a dozen people's lives at risk.

The sources said that the information about the armed clash at Tarlai passed to police control room after a delay of 45 minutes.

In the clash Mohammad Naeen of Banaras clan and Azizur Rehman, Ijaz Ahmad and Amir Hussain of Chudhry Riaz clan were injured.

Had the police informed the control room in time and shifted the injured to the hospital, the second episode of the armed clash could have been averted.

The sources said that the officers of Koral Police were also reluctant to register a case against Riaz clan, even though the Banaras clan had lodged a complaint with them.

A senior police officer when contacted said that the police officers of Koral, including supervisor, were directed to arrest the accused nominated in the FIR as soon as possible.

However, the accused had already left their houses along with their families, and when police raided their residences, they were found locked.

The Margalla police have registered a case on charges of murder, Anti Terrorist Act in response to the complaint of Abid Hussain against Chaudhry Banaras, Chaudhry Yasin, Mohammd Naeem, who received a bullet injury to his head and lying on the death bed at surgical ICU of Pims, Hamid, Zia, Rafique, Shabir, Ashfaq, Khurshid and Sayed.

Earlier, the Margalla police arrested Abid Hussain as he fired shots at the attackers in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences with his 12-bore rifle. However, no one was killed or injured.
