THIS is apropos of the editorial 'Sehwan incident' (Oct 14). In fact, it was a disheartening incident that resulted in the closure of the shrine. A few days back the shrine of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi was also attacked.

Such shrines are equally revered by the two major sects of the Muslims, and also by non-Muslims. Such incidents show religious intolerance, extremism and terrorism. The shrine and its surroundings are everybody's heritage. It is not anybody's personal fiefdom to raise objections.

All devotees have an equal right over it. The timetable may be so planned that the two gatherings shouldn't collide with each other.

Our people should realise the fact that it is the message of humanity and harmony that was propounded by these spiritual figures, because of which we revere them and gather there. Such saints had never resorted to any discrimination at all. Our small thinking is just an irony to the message that they propagated.
