ISLAMABAD, Nov 10: The deputy chief of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and secretary general Afghanistan Defence Council Liaquat Baloch, has claimed that over 1,000 leaders and workers have been arrested during the countrywide strike on Friday.

Speaking at a news conference after meeting the ADC convener, Maulana Samiul Haq, here on Saturday, Mr Baloch said the Jamaat would register a murder case against Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool and interior minister Moinuddin Haider for killing four persons during a protest demonstration in Dera Ghazi Khan. —Staff Reporter
