Mahrukh meets Zermeen in ladies final

KARACHI, Sept 13: Mahrukh earned the right to meet Zermeen in the ladies final, in the Naizam Cup Sindh Ranking Tennis tournament, when she overcame Shabama Ismail 6-1, 6-4 at the City Sports Complex, Kashmir Road Friday.

In the semi-finals of the Boy’s under-18 event, Akbar Pataudi had to work up a sweat in overcoming the fighting Adnan Khan 7-6, 7-5 and the same could said of Amir Ali Khan, who finally got the better of Haris Iltifaat 6-4, 6-7, 6-3, in a match that went the full distance.

Also making his way into the finals was Danish Ahmed, who brushed aside Nadeem Ahmed 6-1, 6-2 in the Boy’s under-14 final.

The finals will be played Saturday.
