ISLAMABAD, Oct 9: South Asia Media Commission (SAMC) has said it was shocked to learn of a 'robbery' at the house of Sirmed Manzoor, a senior journalist and chief coordinator of South Asian Free Media Association (Safma). A statement said some men entered his house in sector F-11/2 on the night of Thursday and Friday and 'stole' passports of Manzoor, his wife Marvi, and daughter, along with other documents. They also took away three laptops, an ipad, hard disk drives, a TV and gold jewellery. “It is not a plain robbery,” said Manzoor, “I suspect some agency is involved in it as they took away our data and travelling documents, which could be of no use to anyone.” He said he and his family were now being harassed and demanded formal investigation into the matter.

Najam Sethi, secretary general of SAMC, supported the demand and requested Interior Minister Rehman Malik to investigate the robbery.
