LAHORE, Sept 12: A meeting of the Taj Company affectees will be held at the Karachi Shuhada hall of the Lahore High Court on Sept 15.

Anjuman Behbood-i-Mutasareen-i-Taj Company president Muhammad Sadiq said in a statement on Thursday the meeting had been convened in pursuance of the Lahore High Court’s July 17 order.

The meeting would consider the scheme presented by the Anjuman before the LHC for restructuring the company and making it viable.

The details of the scheme have already been sent to the affectees, numbering around 22000.

The report of the meeting in respect of the scheme would be submitted to the Lahore High Court on Oct 2.

If endorsed by a majority of the affectees at the Sept 15 meeting, it would pave way for the transfer of the ownership of the company to the creditors to enable them run its affairs themselves, to ensure payment of their shares under a phased programme, construction of a commercial plaza at the Shah Din building site to generate income for payments to the affectees.—APP
