QUETTA, Sept 9: The Election Tribunal of Balochistan on Monday accepted 10 appeals against the rejection and acceptance of nomination papers.

The tribunal, comprising Justice Amanullah Yasinzai and Justice Fazalur Rehman, rejected the nomination papers of Mir Mohammad Aslam Bhootani, a PML-QA candidate from Lasbela. Mr Bhootani had not completed two years after resigning from the government service.

The tribunal ordered rejection of the nomination papers of Mir Feroz Khan, a candidate for PB-27, allowing the appeal filed against the acceptance of his nomination papers.

The appeal of Syed Ehsan Shah, a candidate for PB-48 Turbat, was rejected. He had raised objection against the acceptance of the nomination papers of Dr Malik Baloch of the Balochistan National Movement.

Appeals of candidates Mohammad Jawad and Meena Gul were also rejected by the tribunal.

The tribunal will take up another 36 appeals on Tuesday.
