Twitter: Nadeem Salamat: good job

This guy should be commended only for the fact that in a country where bigotry and narrow-mindedness seem to be getting the better of many a man (even in the world of glitz and glamour) this chap Nadeem Salamat teaches music to young girls and boys on a show called Music Room.

Now you may or may not agree with the format of the programme but the light manner in which NS imparts info on heavy stuff like raag bhairvi and raag jai jai wanti to teenagers is worth noticing. He makes learning music a fun activity and not an unending exercise laden with murkian and harkatein.

Nadeem Salamat is the son of the maestro Ustad Bakhshi Salamat and has a band (BJ Group) comprising his brothers that primarily sings qawwali. Keep up the good work, Nadeem. We need some music in our catastrophe-ridden lives.
