LAHORE, Sept 14: Light rain in the Punjab capital on Tuesday morning made the weather pleasant.
The Met office recorded 2mm of rain at its city observatory and 1mm at airport, predicting partly cloudy weather for Lahore and its surrounding areas during the next 24 hours.
On Monday, the maximum temperature in the city was 31.2 degrees Celsius and the minimum 22 degrees Celsius, with 79 per cent humidity in the morning and 62 per cent in the evening.
Seasonal low over Balochistan and its adjoining areas, penetration of southwest moist current from Arabian Sea into Punjab and Kashmir up to 3,000 feet, besides persistence of trough of westerly wave across northern parts of the country, might cause scattered thunderstorm/rain over north Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
The synoptic situation may also cause isolated thundershower over northeast Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile, rain recorded during the last 24 hours is Dera Ismael Khan was 29mm, Sibbi 25mm, Padidan 20mm, Multan 15mm, Jhang and Mandi Bahauddin 13mm (each), Faisalabad 11mm, Toba Tek Singh 10mm, Balakot and Saidu Sharif 9mm each.
