UPPER DIR, Sept 4: Six persons including a minor girl were killed and a woman was injured in different incidents in Upper Dir.

In the first incident, a man identified as Ilyas Khan killed his six-year-old daughter in Kadikhel area in Wari. He had divorced his wife a few years ago and was said to be mentally disturbed. However, it could not be ascertained as to what led him to kill her young daughter, Uzma. Ilyas was abetted by his brother Bahar in strangulating the child and then tried to hide her body. His father, Sherzada, the grandfather of Uzma, returned home in the evening and was shocked to learn about the killing of his grandchild by his sons.

He could not control his anger and killed his two sons. The incident saddened the whole locality as three coffins were led to the graveyard from one house. In another incident in remote Bin area in Barawal, a man hailing from the same area but settled in Dir was shot dead when he visited his native village.

His murderers could not be identified. In the same area, a man identified as Gul was killed by his opponents.

In yet another incident occurred at Shat Bala area of Dog Darra rivals killed Gul Shehzada and injured his wife seriously.
