MARDAN A suicide bomber blew himself up at the main gate of an Ahmedi place of worship in Muslimabad area during the Friday congregation.

A man was killed and three people injured. DPO Wakif Khan told journalists that a boy, who appeared to be about 16 years old, detonated the explosives he was wearing when he was intercepted.

The DPO identified the deceased as Sheikh Amir Raza and the injured as Fahim, Abdul Salam and Toseef Ahmed.

He said police had found one leg and an arm of the suicide bomber and sent them for forensic examination.

Bomb disposal personnel said that seven to eight kilograms of explosives were used in the attack. A hand-grenade was also found at the site.

Police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in nearby area, but no arrest was made till the evening.

In May, about 100 people were killed in Lahore when militants stormed two Ahmedi places of worship.
