Political activities gain momentum

MINGORA, Sept 5: With the submission of the nomination papers the political activities are gaining momentum  throughout the Malakand division.

Some key figures of political parties are in the run, specially for the National Assembly seats.

Among the prominent figures contesting the elections are: the former governor of Balochistan, Miangul Aurangzeb (independent), Adnan Aurangzeb (son of Miangul Aurangzeb), Pakistan Muslim League (Q), Qari Abdul Baais of Mutahida Majlis Amal, Haji Shujaat Ali Khan, Fazal Rehman of Pakistan people’s Party (PPP Sherpao,) Wajid Ali Khan of Awami National Party, Shujaat Ali Khan of PML (Q), Imran Khan of Pakistan Tehrik Insaaf, Salimur Rehman of PPP (Parliamentarian), Asfandyar Amir Zeb from the Swat district. Lal Mohammad Khan of PPP and Maulana Inayatur Rehman of MMA from Malakand agency.

Engineer Amir Muqam of Shangla has recently resigned as Nazim of union council, Puran, and contesting the elections on the MMA ticket against Dr Afsarul Mulk of PPP parliamentarian and others.

Qazi Hussain Ahmad, central amir of Jamaat Islami, Ahmad Hassan Khan provincial president of PPP Sherpao, Serajul Haq provincial secretary general of JI, Muhammad Ayub Khan of ANP, Sardar Abdul Hakeem Tajik of PML (N) are candidates from Dir lower.

Barrister  Mohammad Islam Khan a candidate of the  Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpapo),  Anwar Khan (PPP Parliamentarian)  and  Maulana Asadullah Khan are in thee run in Dir upper, while the documents of Najmuddin Khan, provincial president of the PPP (Hoti group) have been rejected.

Now Mohammad Islam Khan and Maulana Asadullah Khan are the main contestants.
