LAHORE, Nov 9: The Islami Jamiat-i-Talaba vowed on Friday to hold an Azm-i-Jihad Rally on Nov 13 at Punjab University’s Old Campus and a walk to Faisal Chowk despite a ban on protest rallies on The Mall.

Describing the ban on protest demonstrations as illegal, an IJT spokesman said the civil administration had created a law and order situation by arresting innocent students from the Government Islamia College, Civil Lines, and torturing them.

He said the IJT would also hold protest demonstrations in all educational institutions to condemn arrest and torture of students and a raid on IJT’s office in Ichhra.

In a separate press statement, IJT’s Nazim-i-Aala Mushtaq Ahmad Khan condemned the police raid on IJT’s central office.

Mr Khan said the IJT would hold mass rallies in Lahore and Karachi on Nov 13 and 14, respectively.
