Babar battles into semifinal

LAHORE, Sept 4: Babar Ghafoor battled his way into the semifinal  of  the Lahore City Junior Boys Squash Championship (Under-13), defeating Moin Rauf 3-2 at the Punjab Squash  Complex courts Wednesday.

Babar carved out victory after losing the third and the fourth set. The score in Ghafoor’s favour was 15-5, 15-9,  13-15, 13-15, 15-11.

In other three quarterfinals, the winners made the last four after registering easy wins over their respective rivals.

In Under-15 categories four pre-quarterfinals were also decided.

Results: Under-13 (quarterfinals): Haroon  Samad bt Muhammad Bilal 15-11, 15-8, 15-7; Noor Ali bt Ahmad Amin 15-13, 15-10, 15-14; Asif Mehmood bt Khalil Mehboob 15-14, 15-14, 17-15; Babar Ghafoor bt Moin Rauf 15-5, 15-9, 13-15, 13-15, 15-11. Under-15 (pre-quarterfinals): Adnan Khan bt Sarosh Raza 15-7, 15-12, 15-4; Sh Saqib bt Basit Samad 15-6, 15-5, 15-13; Wasif Tufail bt Saqib 15-17, 15-11, 15- 11, 15-9; Shoaib Hasan bt Owais Rahim 15-6, 11-15, 15-4, 15-9.
