PESHAWAR, Sept 3: Barrister Iftikhar Ahmad, Central Information Secretary of Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao), has said that our party’s persistent stand has been upheld by the disqualification of both the president and the general secretary of PPP (Benazir).

In a statement issue here on Tuesday, Barrister Iftikhar Ahmad said we always maintained that party of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Hayat Sherpao Shaheed, had been hijacked by opportunists and impostures in the party and genuine, innocent and true follower of the party had been sacrificed at the altar of political expediency.

Depending upon bogus degrees to force entry into parliament had become an abhorrent attempt to deceive people. The deception of the PPP workers at the hands of new entrants was the issue that Aftab Sherpao fought against.

Barrister Iftikhar said we have kept our party’s doors open for ever to the true followers of Bhutto Shaheed and Hayat Shaheed and would urge the workers of the party to close doors upon these entrants and join the fold of true Bhuttoists and honest leadership of our party.
