Woman burnt alive

Published September 3, 2002

LAHORE, Sept 2: A woman was burnt alive allegedly by her husband at St. Marry Colony in Gulberg on Monday.

Srafeen told police that her sister Afeen, 35, was married to David Masih. She alleged that David doused Afeen with kerosene and set her on fire to torch on Monday. David, who was also burnt, denied the charges and told the police his wife had committed suicide. He claimed he tried to put out the blaze and sustained the burns.

However, a murder case was registered against him and the body was sent to the city mortuary for autopsy. Afeen had two children.
