ISLAMABAD, Sept 1: The federal government has sought a report from all energy-related organizations on total energy saving and other benefits of advancing Pakistan Standard Time by an hour since April this year.

Official sources told Dawn that all such organizations like Water and Power Development Authority, Karachi Electric Supply Corporation and Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission had been directed to make estimate of the total energy saved during the period since April 6 this year.

The reports from energy-related organizations would help decide whether to continue in future with the practice of advancing standard time by one hour from April till October, and revert to the original time during October-April period.
