Pemra takes note of DSNGs illegal use

Published September 1, 2002

ISLAMABAD, Aug 31: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has taken serious note of the General Elections coverage by some channels who have uplinked signals through satellite transmission with their own DSNGs in Pakistan.

Talking to APP Friday, the spokesman for Pemra made it clear that uplinking of signals through satellite transmission with the Digital Satellite News Gatherings (DSNGs) would be violation of rules and regulations chalked out by the authority.

He said the media bodies interested in the coverage of the polls through this way were directed to apply to Pemra on a prescribed form by Sept 15.
