HYDERABAD, Aug 31: The police have arrested the post master of Latifabad post office, Zahid Shamim, here on Saturday for allegedly issuing fake driving licenses and other certification in collusion with a policeman.

The police recovered 50kg charas and several stamps, certificates, fake revenue tickets and others items from his possession.

A clerk at the office of the District Police Officer is said to be his accomplice.

A police team raided the residence of Shamim in Latifabad-9, Mir Fazal Town and arrested him.

According to the police, the accused had obtained fake stamps of district magistrates of different areas and that of licensing authority, Hyderabad, and used them in the crime.

The accused, who was produced before journalists at the “B” section police station, said that he was doing the work since 1998 and he had so far issued 250 fake licenses.

He disclosed that Shakeel Ahmed of Pakistan Muslim League- Q, Abid and his brother Faheem were also involved in the crime.
