Altaf named to captain ICA U-19s

ISLAMABAD, Aug 28: Mohammad Altaf, who has represented Pakistan at the Under-19 levels, was Wednesday named to lead Islamabad Cricket Association (ICA) in next month’s National Junior (Under 19) Championship.

Altaf, who also plays for Habib Bank, heads a 16-member team that was announced by ICA’s chairman of selectors, Mohammad Aurangzeb.

The selectors, also including Dr. Ahmed Sohail and Irfan Bhatti chose Shakir Mahmood as the vice captain of the party that plays its first match against Kohat on Sunday at the Shalimar Ground here.

Nasir Iqbal was appointed the manager with Dr Saeed Bhatti as his deputy. Rashid Ali will be the coach.

ICA squad: Mohammad Altaf (captain), Shakir Mahmood (vice-captain), Saif-ur-Rehman, Zeeshan Nadir, Mohammad Fayyaz, Riaz Afridi, Omer Khattak, Kashif Majeed, Shehryar Butt, Shahid Malik, Adnan Suleman, Mohammad Adnan, Danish Hanif, Usman Nabi, Imran Fazal and Sajid Ali.
