ISLAMABAD, Aug 28: District and Sessions Judge Sheikh Ahmed Farooq sentenced a drug-pusher to two months of rigorous imprisonment (RI).

The convict, Qaisar Khan, had been arrested by Tarnol police early this year. He would also have to pay a fine of Rs1,000 or spend a fortnight in jail.

BAIL REJECTED: The same court rejected the bail petition of a man named Agha Mohammad Mehdi who had deprived a car-dealer of three cars, which he had acquired on rent.

Police had recovered two of the stolen vehicles on the complaint of the owner.

BOOTLEGGERS REMANDED: Judicial Magistrate Waqarul Hassan Butt remanded three alleged drug-pushers to the custody of Secretariat police.

The three men, Pervez, Zahid and Iftikhar, were arrested for possessing 2,250 bottles of liquor.

BAIL GRANTED: Magistrate Jehangir Mir granted bail to a woman and two men who had been arrested by Margalla police for allegedly carrying out indecent activities at a public place.

The defence counsel had argued that there was no independent witness to the alleged offence.
