LAHORE Pakistan's budding tennis player Samir Iftikhar entered the quarter-finals of the Oman International Tournament by winning the first two round matches.

According to the information received here, Samir in the first round defeated Rohan Bhatia of India in straight sets of 6-3, 6-4.

 

In the second match, he outplayed Skander Mansouri of Tunis after facing some trouble in the second set, the score being 6-1, 7-6 (7).

Samir, who is second seed of the tournament, will meet Abdulrahman Alawadhi of Kuwait in the last eight.
