HYDERABAD, Aug 25: A total number of 181 candidates, belonging to different political and religious-political parties, filed their nomination papers for six National Assembly and 12 Provincial Assembly seats of Hyderabad district on Sunday after the Election Commission extended the last date to file nomination papers till Monday.

Backed by hundreds of their supporters who were beating drums, the candidates continued to throng courtrooms of returning officers.

The premises of the sessions court remained occupied with activists of political parties who carried party flags and posters of their leaders and shouted slogans.

NA-218 Hyderabad-I: The candidates who filed their nomination papers for NA-218 included Makhdoom Ameen Fahim (PPP) and Rasool Bux Memon (MQM),

PS-43: For PS-43, Makhdoom Ameen Fahim (PPP) and Ramzan Ali (MQM) were among the candidates who submitted their nomination papers.

PS-44: Altaf Hussain (MQM) and Syed Peer Ameer Ali Shah (PPP) were among the candidates who filed their candidatures for PS-44.

NA-219 Hyderabad-II: The candidates who filed their papers for NA-219 included Chaudhry Basheer Ahmad Gujjar (PPP) and Prof Khalid Wahab (MQM).

PS-48: Aftab Ahmad Khanzada (PPP), Mohammad Farooque Qureshi (MQM) and Mohammad Rafique (PTI) were among the candidates who filed their nomination papers for PS-48.

PS-49: For PS-49, Amir Ali (PPP) and Hafiz Mohammad Rasheed (MQM) were among the candidates who filed their papers.

NA-220 Hyderabad-III: The candidates who filed their nomination papers for NA-220 included Aftab Ahmad Sheikh (MQM) and Mohammad Irfan Qureshi (PPP).

PS-45: Mohammad Usman (PPP), Aslam Pervez (MQM) and Afzal Pathan (PPP-SB) were among the candidates who filed their nomination forms for PS-45.

PS-46: For PS-46, Abdul Khalique Leghari (PPP), Prof Shah Azmat Ali (MQM) and Khalid Iqbal Jafri (SDA) filed their papers.

NA-221 Hyderabad-IV: The candidates who filed their nomination papers for NA-221 included Pir Amjad Shah Jeelani (PPP), Shabbir Hussain (MQM) and Maula Bux Mashoori (PPP-SB).

PS-47: Shabbir Hussain (MQM) and Maula Bux Chandio (PPP) were among those who filed their nomination forms for PS-47.

PS-50: For PS-50, Ghulam Ali Gopang (PPP) and Piyar Ali Mashoori (PPP-SB) filed their papers.

NA-222 Hyderabad-V: Syed Naveed Qamar Zaman Shah (PPP) and Qadeer Khan Gaddi (PML-N) filed their nomination papers for NA-222.

PS-53: The candidates who filed their papers for PS-53 included Mohsin Shah Bukhari (PPP) and Nasrullah Buledi (MQM).

PS-54: Mir Murtaza Talpur (PPP) was among the candidates who filed their nomination papers for PS-54.

NA-223 Hyderabad-VI: The candidates who filed their papers for NA-223 included Abdul Lateef Mangrio (PPP) and Mahmood Qadir (MQM).

PS-51: Syed Nawaz Ali Rashdi was one of the candidates who filed their nomination forms for PS-51.

PS-52: The candidates who filed their nomination papers for PS-52 included Abdul Lateef Mangrio (PPP) and Mohammad Ramzan Samoon (MQM).
