Kulsoom, Azhar to fight for NA-118

LAHORE, Aug 24: PML-QA President Mian Muhammad Azhar will contest from NA-118 (Lahore) where Begum Kulsoom Nawaz will be the PML-N candidate. PML-N President Mian Shahbaz Sharif will be her covering candidate from this constituency.

Efforts are being made that Jamaat-i-Islami’s Hafiz Salman Butt should be put up as opposition parties joint candidate against Mian Azhar.

The People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPP) has nominated C.A. Qadir and Ms Imbisat from this constituency.

Mian Abdus Sattar of the PML-QA and Jehangir Badar of the PPP are contesting from NA-119. Mian Shahbaz Sharif will be the PML-N candidate from this constituency with Dr Asad Ashraf as his covering candidate. Khwaja Saad is also an aspirant from this constituency. He is also thinking of filing his nomination papers from some other city constituencies.

PML-N sources claim that deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to file his nomination papers from NA-120 even if they are rejected. Begum Kulsoom Nawaz and Malik Pervez will be covering candidates from this seat.

Kamil Ali Agha of the PML-QA will be facing Altaf Qureshi of the PPP in NA-120.

PML-QA’s Mian Jehangir is a candidate from NA-121 where the PPP has nominated Aurangzeb Burki.

Chaudhry Amin of the PML-QA will be contesting from NA-122 against Chaudhry Ghulam Qadir of the PPP. The PML-N will put up Malik Pervaiz from this constituency with Zaeem Qadri and Ayaz Sadiq as covering candidates.

PML-N acting president Javed Hashmi is likely to submit his nomination papers from NA-123. Mujteba Shujaa will be his covering candidate. Former parliamentary secretary Mian Abdul Waheed is the PML-QA’s candidate from this seat where the PPP has fielded Tariq Waheed Butt.

PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan will be facing former PPP leader Rohail Asghar in NA-124. Rohail has just joined the PML-QA. The PML-N is putting up Haji Imdad Husain on this seat.

PML-QA’s Humayun Akhtar Khan is a candidate from NA-125 where Naveed Chaudhry will be the PPP candidate.

Mr Fakhr Zaman is a PPP candidate from NA-126 against PML-QA’s Tariq Banday. Mr Banday may also be candidate from NA-127 in case Mian Fazle Haq did not take part in the contest. Prof Ijazul Hasan will be the PPP candidate from this constituency.

PPP’s Karamat Khokhar is a candidate from NA-128 against Wazir Ali Bhatti of the PML-QA. Dr Zahid Akram and Begum Khalid Ghurki are PPP nominees from NA-129 and 130 (Lahore), respectively, against Maj Habibullah Waraich and Ijaz Dyal of the PML-QA.  Sardar Arif Rashid, Naseer Bhutta and Sardar Kamil Omer will be other PML-N candidates from various city constituencies.
