HYDERABAD, Aug 22: The University of Sindh, Jamshoro, under the faculty development programme, has approved foreign scholarships for Ph.D and post-doctorate programmes for faculty members of various institutes and departments of the university.

The scholarships were approved at a meeting of the scholarship committee held on Thursday.

The meeting gave foreign scholarships to Dr Mohammad Usman Memon, director, Institute of Pharmacy, and Prof Dr Allah Nawaz Memon of the Institute of Biochemistry for post-doctorate from Japan.

The meeting also approved scholarship for Ph.D to Nizamuddin Channa, lecturer, Institute of Business Administration.

It discussed grant of scholarships to three other candidates of various departments and decided that after the completion of formalities required for scholarship, foreign scholarship would be allowed to one of the candidates. It recommended age relaxation up to 45 years for the university faculty members for award of foreign scholarship for Ph.D programme.
